Yuho represents flowers and animals in her work, but their inclusion is not just with the intent to explore their aesthetic possibilities, but also to investigate how they become imbued with meaning and emotion through our interaction with them. Flowers are picked, arranged and given to someone for a variety of reasons and nearly every purpose has a different emotion attached to it. Her representation of animals, especially pets, are there to reflect some of the intangible aspects of our relationship with them. When Yuho juxtaposes these floral and animal elements, they become more like emblems that are symbolic of the sentiment felt toward the creature.
